Inaugural Fundraiser
screening of
Little Lorraine
The Unama'ki / Cape Breton Film Festival kicked off July 30 with two sold-out screenings of Little Lorraine.
Inspired by the Adam Baldwin song of the same name, the 2025 film features Unama'ki / Cape Breton talent and locations and draws from real-life stories of the dark side of life in a small town dependent on mining and fishing industries.
Nearly 1,000 people came out to support the festival and see a great movie on a big screen!
The fundraiser included sales of cool merch and Little Lorraine beer by Big Spruce, and the opportunity to take a selfie with a real Oscar. After the screenings, Director Andy Hines, Producer Michael Volpe, local actors Bette MacDonald and Maynard Morrison, Art Director John Butler, and Camera and Steadicam Operator Patrick Doyle were interviewed by Academy–Award winning local resident and member of the festival team Tamara Deverell.
The full festival schedule will be released in the next few weeks.
In the meantime, mark your calendars for 25–27 September 2026, follow us on IG and FB, and join our mailing list!
